Question: I have a snoring problem and the doctor told me that I have to cut out fat because my cholesterol is too high.
Answer: You need to understand what in most cases pushes up the cholesterol. Foods and beverages that push up the cholesterol are:
• Bread
• Coffee
• Alcohol
• Lemonade
• Coke and similar drinks
• Sugars
• Stress
Question: I have apnea sleep disorder. How can I get my Triglycerides down and my HDL (which is the good cholesterol) up?
Answer: By removing the items above. And by starting to eat the good fats and raw organic eggs.
The good fats such as butter, extra virgin coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, coconut cream without the preservatives.
Question: I snore and have apnea sleep & fibromyalgia problems and have been told that eggs were bad for my cholesterol?
Answer: No they are very good for creating good cholesterol.
I suggest you eat organic eggs and make sure that the chickens are not mainly grain fed.
You need to understand that the grains push up insulin levels and it makes sense that chickens who have been mainly grain fed, laying eggs which are not so healthy for you. The same applies for grain fed beef!
Question: With my snoring, apnea sleep, & fibromyalgia problem(s) I thought that too many eggs were dangerous for my health?

Answer: I will never advise a patient to eat eggs unless they follow the principles of the Free Radical Therapy.
The Free Radical Therapy is based upon the principles that every disease or degenerative process is connected with 6 clinical defects.
Snoring, apnea sleep & fibromyalgia problems are symptoms of what has gone wrong in your biochemistry, therefore by focusing upon balancing the 6 clinical defects we can assist a patient to move into a greater sense of well being.
Question: I have been to the sleep clinic and have been told that I have apnea sleep problems. Why is the biochemical screening important?
Answer: My clinical experience has taught me that unless I study the biochemical reports in its context, PLUS the symptoms a patient has, it allows me to arrive to a balanced advice.
Guessing where to focus upon has become a very expensive and unrewarding process for all parties involved.
Question: Do you subject yourself to the biochemical screening?
Answer: Yes, the continuous professional education I am involved in makes this mandatory.
How would I be able to assist other patients if I would be unwilling to subject myself to what I suggest to patients?
Question: Why is it necessary for me, with my apnea sleep, and snoring ,and or fibromyalgia problems to begin to understand the relationship between my problems and my biochemical screening results?
Answer: Well it is your body, and isn’t it a powerful process when the pennies starting to drop.
Medicine is a very broad field and it would be impossible for one practitioner to know it all. That is not necessary.
However what is important that as a practitioner you connect with like minded people in the field.
In the field of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine we have a different approach towards health.
There are 2 Models on which we can base our protocols.
The diseased based Model, which is Medicare or the Health Based Model.
The difference is that when we explore the biochemical screening in the Health Based Model we have a different reference range.
We like to observe when the trouble is coming, NOT when it hits you like a brick and you have to apply desperate methods.
Of course I am not talking about a situation where a patient needs emergency surgery.
Question: Helena I have so many allergies and nothing seems to work.
Answer: When a person has many allergies than one of the first things we need to address is to improve the mucosal lining.
In my book there is a recipe for Mucosal Rebuild.
Secondly: Introduce the cultured dairy products. Almost all cultured dairy products have great value. However a word of warning. I am not talking about milk on the supermarket shelf. I stay away from that as far as possible.
Cultured dairy products I use are the Camembert, Brie, Full Cream, Sour Cream and all of them are from King Island. I don’t get any commission for mentioning this. I don’t want it. I like to recommend foods which assist people on the road to health and wellbeing.
Sheep’s Yoghurt is another good product. Not the cow’s yoghurt.
Cultured dairy products help you to fight infections.
Question: I am grinding my teeth, what can I do about that?
Answer: Grinding teeth is an indicator that the person has connective tissue breakdown. Therefore we need to focus upon supporting the body in stopping this process.
Connective tissues provide the strands that connect all tissues. It is the ‘glue’ that holds the body together.
Question: Can I have a dessert after my meal?
Answer: Yes you can have occasionally a desert; however take it with soft cheese such as King Island Camembert or Brie.
The reason is that the pH can’t drop below 5.5 Therefore you are protected from detrimental bacteria.
Question: What is the ideal environment in the body for allowing infections to get hold of us?
Answer: Infections requires:
• Free Iron
• Anaerobic tendency
• A sugary/sweet environment
Question: With all that fat am I going to gain weight?
Answer: No, when you follow the principles of the Free Radical Therapy, you won’t gain weight. You can actually loose weight.
You need to remember that the weight gain in many cases is connected with a metabolic disorder.
Therefore it is even more important to give your body those foods including the good fats which actually reve up your metabolic rate.
Question: Why is the Free Radical Therapy such a powerful tool?
Answer: It is simply because it goes back to basics. Too often people get lost in the many symptoms and start to focus upon them.
I always ask myself HOW this person (including myself) arrived to this imbalance in the body.
Even when a person has a fatal disease we still can attempt to improve the quality of their live by implementing the Free Radical Therapy principles.
Question: What is your opinion about soy products?
Answer: I only eat occasionally FERMENTED soy. This fermentation process has changed the structure in such a way that the human digestive system can handle it.
The soy milk on the supermarket shelves is VERY UNHEALTHY for human health. It inhibits the function of two very important enzymes, due to the Protease Inhibitors that are a constituent of Soybeans. The enzymes are Trypsin and Chymotrypsin.
These enzymes are very important in assisting the immune system in killing cancer by digesting protective hCG. (Human Pregnancy Hormone)
hCH has two recognised functions:
• Protects cancer from the immune sytem
• Enhances thyroid function
Question: Why are organic vegetables and biodynamic meat important?
Answer: We like to reduce the load of pesticides, hormones and antibiotics in our body. Also the organic vegetables and biodynamic meats are very tasty.
Make sure you acquire them from a good source. I buy my biodynamic meat from a butcher I trust and I know they are delivering qualty meats.
Of course when you live outside Western Australia, you will be able to source similar sources.
I have a very busy life and I am not interested in running around all the time to do the shopping.
Question: Why is meditation important?
Answer: Medicine has found a label for holistic health, and this label is; Psycho-Neuro – Immunology. This is an acknowledgement that we need to integrate all aspects of our being.
When a health practitioner hasn’t arrived to this integration him or herself than it would be very difficult to advice patients accordingly.
We are not talking about a dogmatic approach, we are talking about the reality that we are so much more than a piece of meat with a number of functions.
Without going into too much detail let me explain a few things to you.
I have been meditating for about 20 years, however when I started to integrate the Holosync Sound Solution I noticed a powerful improvement. Why would that be you might wonder!
The connection between the brain and meditation has to do with electrical patterns in the brain.
The neurons in your brain are firing continually and all these neurons tend to fire in patterns, and just like everything else in the Universe, these patterns are vibratory in nature.
When these vibrations are rapid, 14 cycles per second and above, we call them beta waves. These Beta waves are associated with conscious, waking attention, alertness, arousal and concentration. At the higher end of Beta you experience the fight or flight reaction.
If the brain wave patterns slow a bit, they become alpha brain waves, between 8 and 12 cycles per second. Alpha is more associated with relaxed introspection, meditation, inwardly focused attention, the relaxation response and learning. If you close your eyes right now you begin to make more alpha waves.
If the brain waves patterns slow still more, you enter a theta brain wave state, between 4 and 8 cycles per second. Theta is most often thought of as dreaming sleep, REM sleep, rapid eye movement sleep. Theta is also the brain wave pattern of creativity.
The brain is even more balanced in theta, the two hemispheres are communicating even more. When you have a sudden aha experience you have a Theta brain wave.
If the brain wave patterns slow even more, you enter a delta brain wave pattern, below 4 cycles per second. This is the brain wave pattern of dreamless sleep. Your unconscious mind, which is the MOST powerful mind, can communicate with you at this level.
Most people make a lot of Beta brain waves, which is why they are caught in the world of separate things and a lot of delta waves, which are all connected to the unconscious, autonomic responses, such as beating your heart, your breathing and so on.
Most people make MUCH LESS alpha and theta waves. This creates a lack of connection between the beta area, that of waking consciousness, the conscious mind and the delta area, the unconscious mind.
You don’t need to be a genius to work out that it becomes a problem when two important steps are under-developed in allowing the brain-mind connection to function in its most optimal way that you have a problem.
